Situated 8km from the centre of Brisbane, Mount Coot-tha offers a magnificent panorama of the city and its surroundings. You can go on lovely walks there, and magnificent botanical gardens at the foot of the mountain can be visited: the Mount Coot-tha Botanic Gardens. They spread out over 52 hectares where more than 20,000 kinds of plants grow. There you will also find a dry area, a covered tropical dome, rain forests and a Japanese garden. The Mount Coot-tha Botanic Gardens are open every day from 8.30am to 5.30pm. Free guided tours possible at 11am and 1pm every day except Sunday.
